The My Hero Academia anime is returning in style! With Kohei Horikoshi's main manga series coming to an end, the franchise is showing no signs of slowing down.
Coming in April 2025, the highly anticipated My Hero Academia: Vigilantes will premiere, offering a thrilling prequel that dives into the past of some beloved characters before the events we know today.
The latest trailer has already given fans a taste of what's to come, showcasing new scenes that highlight character development and the situations that led to the heroic world we admire.
What Is My Hero Academia: Vigilantes?
Created by Hideyuki Furuhashi, with illustrations by Betten Court, Vigilantes is an official spin-off of the My Hero Academia universe. The story follows Koichi Haimawari, a local hero who takes it upon himself to protect his hometown and help his community.
Inspired by All Might, Japan's No. 1 hero, Koichi operates as a vigilante, working outside the official Hero Association system.
Unlike My Hero Academia, where the Hero Association is already well-established, Vigilantes presents a world still in development, with many areas left unprotected and vulnerable to crime.
The series follows Koichi's journey as he navigates a dangerous reality and gradually carves his own path to becoming a hero.
Additionally, Vigilantes offers fans a chance to see familiar characters from the original series in a whole new light, revealing untold stories and providing deeper insights into events that shaped the My Hero Academia world.
Fans will even get to see Koichi meet All Might during the prime of his career, a time before the legendary hero began to weaken.
